My Horses

by Jess

I have 5 horses, Diesel, Tex, Casper, Buddy and Lightning.
Diesel is probably the best behaved horse but can be quiet lazy at times and has a great canter. He is a chestnut Australian Stock horse.

Tex is very naughty and loves to shy at anything he can even if he's not afraid. He is very lazy and you have to give him a good kick to make sure he doesn't dawdle. He is a brown Appaloosa.

Casper is a very good horse, he's a very light Palomino and if he doesn't want to do something you have to dismount and force him to do it.

Buddy is 23 yrs old and is very docile. He is the best behaved horse but isn't very fit anymore, he was my first horse and I love him. He is a Knabstrupper and is very healthy for his age.

And finally, Lightning. He is very, very naughty and bolts, shies, kicks and bites and doesn't have the best ground manners. On trail rides he always shies and bolts and whenever a new rider is put on him he always tests them. He is a bay standard-bred.

I love all my horses and think they are the best, even if they can be naughty! I am very lucky to have my horses and love to ride! I don't have a picture of all my horses together so here is a pic of Buddy and Lightning.

"As a student of Zen Buddhism for nearly three decades, I've often wondered when someone was going to write the book on Zen and the art of horsemanship, and I think that your emphasis on mindfulness and energy connection gets right at the heart of the matter."

What people say about HHT:

"The riding instruction is outstanding, if instructors in the UK taught this way there would be a lot of happy riders and horses."

"The riding tuition exceeded my hopes and expectations by a long way; giving me an exciting new facet to horsemanship which is lighter. more subtle, more elegant and more meaningful. It is as if a new door has opened bringing more sunlight and air."

"My goodness - what a change has taken place in my riding. I think that I'm starting to sit 'into' the horse rather than on top of him. I felt my horse's movements in a way that has almost never happened before"
