The stallion I was afraid of

by Leah Marie Walker
(gainesville ga usa)

Back in January I bought a stallion. He was so beautiful I just had to have him!!! After I bought him I realized I couldn't put him with the rest of my horses in fear of what might happen, so I boarded him, and not spending a lot of time with him, only sometimes when my trainer was there.. He always seemed crazy to me so I was a little afraid of him.. Time went on & I noticed there were marks on him that showed where a saddle had been - it wasn't me so it really upset me..
Once I realized he was being mistreated I began looking for somewhere to take him.. Turns out he's home with me my son in law & all my friends donated, bought & built a fence for him to stay with mommie..
I still was not sure of him so I took him to ride around another stallion & mares because we have a parade coming up... My horse was great he has ground manners and is very good to ride. The other stallion jumped on my horse so I threw myself off & it wasn't until he knew I was not on his back that he proceeded to stand his ground!!! I feel so bad for ever doubting my horse, but now know he's definitely got my back

"As a student of Zen Buddhism for nearly three decades, I've often wondered when someone was going to write the book on Zen and the art of horsemanship, and I think that your emphasis on mindfulness and energy connection gets right at the heart of the matter."

What people say about HHT:

"The riding instruction is outstanding, if instructors in the UK taught this way there would be a lot of happy riders and horses."

"The riding tuition exceeded my hopes and expectations by a long way; giving me an exciting new facet to horsemanship which is lighter. more subtle, more elegant and more meaningful. It is as if a new door has opened bringing more sunlight and air."

"My goodness - what a change has taken place in my riding. I think that I'm starting to sit 'into' the horse rather than on top of him. I felt my horse's movements in a way that has almost never happened before"
